This instructor-led certification review course is designed to help prepare you for the upcoming Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center (HPCC) CHPN® Certification Exam.
This course provides a framework to prepare and a process to assess strengths and weaknesses of content prior to sitting for the exam. This course is facilitated by nationally recognized subject matter experts.
Each module in the review course addresses sections of the current CHPN® Detailed Content Outline.
Learning Objectives
- Explain core content areas relevant to the Certified Hospice and Palliative Nursing (CHPN®) examination.
- Identify individual strengths and weaknesses in core content areas to support ongoing preparation for the Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Nursing (CHPN®) examination.
- Integrate evidence-based concepts gained from the course to enhance the quality of patient care in hospice and palliative nursing practice.

Course Details
This is a virtual event. Registered learners will receive course access information and materials to their HPNA associated email address 3-5 days prior to August 7.
HPCC is not able to conduct or recommend specific review courses. The use of HPNA exam preparation materials does not imply successful performance on HPCC certification exams. The use of HPNA exam preparation materials does not give an advantage over candidates who do not choose to use them.
Continuing Education
Attendees can earn up to a maximum of 8.33 NCPD contact hours* and 2.25 Pharmacotherapeutic contact hours* upon successful completion of this course. Successful completion requires participants to remain engaged throughout the Zoom platform (e.g., cameras on, engaged in breakout sessions, etc.), and completing/submitting the post-activity evaluation within the timeframe specified.
Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
All individuals in a position to control content will be submitting financial disclosure information, and appropriate disclosures will be made prior to the event.

Facilitators
Kelli Anspach, MSN, RN, CV-BC, NPD-BC, CHPN®
Kelli is a Clinical Nurse Educator for multi-hospital health systems specializing in nursing professional development, clinical excellence, and quality improvement. Her areas of interest include palliative care and hospice in the inpatient setting, end-of-life nursing, facilitating and speaking for End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC), nurse residency, self-care for nurses, and more.
Donna Fahey, RN
Donna is the Director of the Institute for Education, Research, and Innovation at Samaritan in Mount Laurel, NJ, and an adjunct assistant professor at Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions. With more than 20 years of experience in intensive care and hospice and palliative care, Fahey integrates holistic health care strategies into clinical practice. Fahey has presented at numerous conferences, and her work has been featured in various nursing publications. She holds a master's degree in nursing from Rowan University, a bachelor's degree from Drexel University, and a post-graduate certificate in Complementary and Integrative Therapies. Fahey is certified in hospice and palliative care nursing, clinical nurse leadership, and holistic nursing.
Cancellation Policy
Registrants must place a cancellation request in writing up to three weeks prior to the event to receive a full refund minus a $50 administrative fee. Cancellations received less than one week prior to the event will not be refunded. Please contact the HPNA Education Department about cancellations.
