Children with severe neurologic impairment (SNI) often experience chronic pain that is difficult to identify and treat due to communication limitations and complex clinical presentations. This recorded webinar offers a structured approach to recognizing, assessing, and managing pain in this vulnerable population.
Learners will explore observable pain behaviors, caregiver insights, and validated pain assessment tools such as r-FLACC, INRS, and NCCPC. The webinar also addresses pharmacologic options including gabapentin, clonidine, TCAs, cannabis, and methadone. Through real-world case studies and practical guidance, this training equips clinicians to improve pain management, reduce unnecessary treatments, and support families navigating the neuro-palliative care journey.
