Skin Care and the Prevention of Skin Breakdown presented by Marlene Foreman ACNS-BC, ACHPN. Skin care is of great importance when caring for patients. Marlene discusses the aspects of skin and skin care that are important for the Nursing Assistant. She starts by discussing the skin and it's structure and function as a part of the human body. Then, she moves in to what changes a person's skin can have due to age or illness. Following that, she discusses the basics of skin care. Common skin injuries and the nursing assistant's role in caring for them are covered as well as the responsibilities of the nursing assistant in skin care of the patient.
