Diagnosing Dying 2023
Dying is not a pathology. Much of the reason we find ourselves in ethical dilemmas and confusion regarding prognostication is a discomfort with death as a society and this can be partly attributed to the influence of Western Medicine. This course is worth .75 NCPDs.
The objectives of this course:
• FOCUS TOPIC 1: Description of typical trajectories to death.
• FOCUS TOPIC 2: Explain the physiology and signs of a natural death.
• FOCUS TOPIC 3: Illustrate barriers to recognizing someone is dying.
Speaker: Rebecca Gagne-Henderson PhD, APRN, ACHPN, FNP
